Looking for a holiday home abroad

If you'd like to escape to your very own piece of paradise each year then your prime consideration may be things to do in the area.

If you are taking your family with you, and this includes children, then you may well be looking for an easy-to-maintain property, close to local amenities, with maybe theme parks or other large attractions close by. You may require the overseas property to be near to the beach, or have access to a pool or playground. Alternatively, you may prefer somewhere inland, maybe mid-way up a mountain to be close to the ski action in the winter and the beach in the summer.

Make a list of the things that you'd like most in the area around the property. Speak to your family too, as they're going to have a keen interest in what activities there are too.

You may like to consider renting your property out on short term rentals whilst you're not there, to help pay towards the costs. This can be a very attractive option. The downside of course, is that you will be unable to simply leave your own things there - you won't be able to travel light.
