Why Buy Property in Spain

Spain is more than 100,000 square miles larger than the UK, more than twice its size, and yet there are 14 million fewer people living there. The majority living in the cities of Madrid, Barcelona and on the Costas (coasts) of Del Sol, Blanca, Brava and on the north western corner.

The Spanish Costa’s are the most popular for overseas visitors and investors, as they offer a taste of the culture along with beautiful beaches overlooking the Mediterranean sea. However, many have been highly developed although they now offer a wide diversity of cultures, with many restaurants and shops offering produce from other countries.

Buying property in Spain has always been a popular choice. For the past 40 years, people from the UK have been investing in property on the Costa’s of Spain, for profit, pension, holidays or relocation and it has proved itself to be a reliable market, offering high returns on investment with properties being easy to rent out to holiday makers and locals alike.

Although it is an existing market, Spain still has lots of opportunities to offer, with good properties available to purchase for investment, rental, relocation and holidays.

Many areas however have seen their BOOM times and have now levelled out and become more stable.

Because of this, many investors are choosing to buy property in new emerging markets in countries where promises of returns are much higher, but as they are new, emerging markets, who can say whether these returns are actually realistic. Spain remains a popular choice however, for a more stable, long term investment.
